In the late ‘60s, Japanese guitar manufacturer Guyatone began a short-lived line of Yamaha-built guitars that were of a different class than there normal fare. These instruments had wide, thin bodies and slim fast necks, obviously built with playability in mind. This is one such instrument, an LG125T in a vibrant red finish. Right away this guitar pops with that rare and super clean red finish against a white pick-guard; truly remarkable for a guitar of this type and age. The pick-ups have a pretty decent sound to them, with a nice but reserved twang from the bridge pick-up. The bridge itself is a rather unwieldy piece of hardware, with free-moving saddles that buzz a fair bit, but with some light distortion this isn’t an issue. If you are looking for a very well preserved Japanese vintage instrument then look no further! Ships in a gig-bag.
