1981 Peavey T-40 Bass, Natural
When one thinks vintage American instruments, lots of dollar signs come to mind, but a wonderful brand of vintage instruments is increasingly coming in to the forefront; Peavey. These guitars were meant to be an affordable American option during a time when Japanese copies were becoming prevalent. Peavey was an alternative between foreign copies and high-priced originals. Today, those low prices seem to have followed the brand, and so has the quality. Quality that can be found in this T-40 bass in natural finish with a black pickguard. This piece is simple but effective, with a pair of blade humbuckers, a sturdy bridge, and reliable tuners. With a tone and volume knob for either pick-up, a three-way toggle switch, and a phase switch, this bass is capable of a variety of different tones. It will open up for a some deep, thunderous sounds or choke up for a tight chirp, with lots of sounds in between. This beast is fairly weighty, but still comfortable in the hands and under the fingers. There are some scuffs and dings, but structurally this bass is in great shape and would make a fabulous player’s piece for any gigging musician. Ships in its original molded plastic case.
