Beginning a long and storied career in 1959, Chubby Checker made an early name for himself in 1960 with his cover of Hank Ballard’s “The Twist”, for which the wildly popular dance was created. The man would go on to create several other dances through his chart-topping singles like “The Pony”, “The Fly”, and the “Mess Around”. His follow-up single to “The Twist”, “Let’s Twist Again” won a Grammy in 1961 and Chubby Checker has been performing and recording to this day, with his last single “Changes” having been released in 2013. Here we have a piece of the man’s legacy in the form of a signed Olympia guitar with a certificate of authenticity. The instrument was signed at a concert in 2003, being graced with his signature on the treble side upper bout. The instrument is very clean, but it is certainly not a player’s piece as much as a palette for the pop legend’s signature. Don’t pass it up!
