Fender

Here we have a real working man’s guitar, a 1974 Fender Stratocaster in a Natural finish with a black pickguard. This piece may not be the most aesthetically appealing instrument, but it is in fine playing shape and has a really great sound. The pots and serial number date to 1974, and the middle and neck pickup bobbins match up with that date, though the bridge pickup is a replacement. The neck stamp appears to have been finished or sanded over, but the large headstock and three bolt holes definitively places it in the 1970s. It also has had on its tone pots replaced and it appears that the pickguard was a replacement as well. Lastly, there looks to be some filled screw holes on the headstock above the truss rod, perhaps from a locking system or string tree. The neck feels great and it play's nicely, though the frets are worn down some. As mentioned above, it has plenty of aesthetic blemishes, but nothing catastrophic. Things like scuffing along the neck edge, finish cracks, and plenty of bumps and dings. It also has its previous owner’s name etched on the neck plate and jack plate. If you’re after a no-frills, player grade vintage Strat, then look no further! Ships in a hardshell case.
