Here we have a 1969 Rickenbacker 360 in beautiful Azure Blue finish. The 360 series featured a 12-string model, used extensively by George Harrison, and a 6-string model, famously used by REM’s Peter Buck. All of the 360s featured a semi-hollow, carved maple body with plastic binding on the back, and a varnished rosewood fretboard. This piece is a 6-string with all its original parts, save for its bridge cover and one mysterious quirk: the truss rod cover says reads "model 365". The 365 is exactly like the 360 except that it has a vibrato tailpiece; this means that either there was a mistake at the factory, the truss rod cover was replaced, or the vibrato was replaced with a standard “R” tailpiece. It does not appear at all that the tailpiece was replaced, so it seems most likely that the truss rod cover was replaced at some point. In any case, the guitar is in good condition, with some scuffs and scratches mostly on the back, and the biggest issue being some binding shrinkage and a possible split repair on the bottom. This guitar has some great sounds to it, especially from the neck pick-up which sounds smooth with a healthy amount of sustain. She plays well too, with a nice medium-low action and thin neck profile. Ships in its original hard-shell case.
