Without doubt one of the most widely played guitars of all time, the Gibson Les Paul is a true legend of modern music. Originally manufactured in 1952, the Les Paul has stood the test of time as a powerhouse of rock sound, rivaled perhaps only by the Fender Stratocaster. Usually sporting that classic heavy mahogany body and neck, Les Pauls have been delivering that sustain-rich rock tone without fail to thousands of stars and amateurs alike for decades.
Here we have a 1957 Goldtop Les Paul in excellent condition. Often considered to be the “holy grail” for Les Paul collectors, the Gold Top Les Pauls were in production up until 1958, making them truly rare and coveted finds. This gorgeous piece has even neck relief and only minor dings and some buckle-rash; an excellent example overall. The parts are all original with the exception of the input jack plate. The pick-ups are the classic P-90s, produced before the switch to PAFs that same year. If you are a collector or player in search of your own Gold-Topped piece of guitar history, then you’ve just found it!
