Here we have a real beauty of guitar, a 1968 Gibson Dove in natural spruce with double pickguards. The Dove line was Gibson's second square-shouldered dreadnought next to the Hummingbird, and the two models share many similarities with the largest difference being the Dove's maple back and sides. The guitar's namesake and the most recognizable feature of this line is the ornate pickguard, of which this instrument has two! This instrument is a further rarity in that it is a natural top rather than Cherryburst. This particular piece is in great condition as well, with some light checking on the finish, some nicks and scratches, and some light corrosion on the bridge. The truss rod cover has also warped a little bit and has a hump in the center. Despite these minor flaws, this guitar plays wonderfully and has a gorgeous and huge sound that is booming yet clear. This guitar is a real joy to play, to be sure. Ships in its original hard-shell case.
