In 1962 Gibson launched its iconic Dove line of acoustic guitars. This is a fairly well preserved example of that line made c.1962. The Dove line was Gibson's second square-shouldered dreadnought next to the Hummingbird, and the two models share many similarities with the largest difference being the Dove's maple back and sides. And of course, the Dove has the gorgeous pick-guard design that made it a truly recognizable instrument. This instrument has a huge bass sound and excellent tactile response. The neck is straight and there is some light crazing on the finish; there is also some bellying on the bass side of the body, but overall the guitar is in very good condition. This guitar might have also If you are looking for that legendary Gibson acoustic sound and a look that will turn heads, then this is the guitar for you! This instrument appears to have been refinished decades ago. Additionally this is a "factory second" guitar, sporting a "2" above the serial number. Regardless, this is an outstanding instrument, and is in better shape today, than most of its factory perfect brothers!
