1946 Gibson ES-300N

This piece is a 1946 ES-300N from Gibson; the one-time top of the heap for burgeoning Electric Spanish line. The ES-300 is a somewhat overlooked chapter in the ES book, but at one time it was the fanciest archtop electric Gibson offered, and the model saw a number of innovations and changes in its short life. By the time this piece was manufactured, the standard was a maple top, a P-90 pickup, and a BIG 17” body. This piece screams for old style jazz, and when you play a nice standard on it you’ll hear why. Through a crystal clear amp, the P-90 shines beautifully, and the acoustic sound has a nice tight quality to it. The frets are a little worse for wear, but the upper and middle positions play like a dream. The natural finish has developed plenty of that gorgeous checking we all know and love, and there are no major defects save for some pick scratching where the missing pickguard would be. This piece has also been given a deep clean and set-up from our in-house luthier, so it looks and sounds fantastic. If you have a love for vintage jazz boxes, then this is the Gibson for you! Ships in its original hardshell case.

Note: We are open to negotiating a fret replacement by our in-house luthier. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
