Countless guitar legends recall the same brand guitar as their first ax, and that brand is Silvertone. Silvertone was the proprietary instruments brand of Sears, Robuck, and Company from 1915 to 1972. The company was known for their relatively high quality instruments for entry level prices, and here we have one of those instruments, the 1423 Jupiter. This guitar from 1961 bears the classic marks of a Silvertone: a light build, gold flake on black finish, and fabulous DeArmond pick-ups. This piece is in fairly good condition, with no major issues aside from an inlay coming up at the 14th fret. There are quite a few paint chips, and some checking, but these are expected for a guitar of this age. The electronics all function normally with a nice neutral sound from the pick-ups. Ships in its original chip case that has sustained some damage from sticker removal.
