Here we have a 1964 Gibson Melody Maker in sunburst finish with replacement Seymour Duncan pick-ups. The Melody Maker series was once Gibson’s highest sold model, conceived to be an affordable option for players on a budget. This piece is a Melody Maker D, with two cutaways and, originally, two single coil pick-ups. This particular guitar has had those single-coils replaced with two Seymour Duncan single-coil sized humbuckers which make for a nice big sound. It also appears to have a replacement bridge, but all else appears original.
Structurally speaking, this guitar is in excellent shape, but it does show some checking and wear, especially on the top side where there is a big finish blemish. Ships in a hard-shell case.
