This is a 1972 Fender Stratocaster in a natural lacquered finish. The guitar is fairly clean, with a some checking and blemishes on the body and back but nothing serious. There is some chrome pitting on the bridge and some rust on the tuner pegs, but both function normally. With most of its original parts intact, this guitar has had its pick-ups replaced with Eric Johnson customs and it has also had its pots and switch replaced. A previous owner also installed an on-off switch but it is no longer connected to anything; the joints were desoldered cleanly and the wiring is sound. The Eric Johnson pick-ups are certainly no downgrade; these babies scream and sing beautifully, and really compliment the instrument well. While it does have a whammy bar, it appears the hole for it has been bored out and the bar fits but loosely. This guitar is also a seriously hefty Strat at 10 lbs. All told, this is a fabulous Strat that is perfect for any player’s arsenal. Ships in its original hard-shell case.
