Here we have a Cort Effector guitar from the 1980s.This guitar is a strat-style electric with a tremolo bridge and a pair of humbuckers, but the real draw and namesake of this model is the on-board effects. With the push of a button players have access to delay, vibrato, chorus, wah, and even distortion. You can also adjust the speed of the effects and you can even put the pick-ups in and out of phase. This novel idea seems pretty cool, but as you might expect, these effects are not exactly boutique quality, and the thirsty electronics take two 9 volt batteries to run! That’s not to say that there is no charm in them, and the distortion even has a cool, low-fi sludge kind of sound. And effects aside, the guitar does have a great feel and is a pleasure to play. The dry sound (which bypasses the electronics and plays without batteries, thankfully) is even pretty nice, but for some reason you can never use just one pick-up. Aesthetically the guitar is in great shape, and the all black look does not show too many bumps, though the back bottom side does have a good amount of scuffs and chips. If you’re looking for a great playing and funky piece, then look no further than this radical ‘80s throwback! Ships in a gigbag.Weight: 7 lbs. 13 oz.
