1983 Guild FS-46 CE, Black
Here we have a bit of an oddball from Guild, an FS-46 CE solid-body acoustic with a thin mahogany acoustic-shaped body with an oval soundhole. The guitar features characteristics of electric guitars, with its 24 fret rosewood board on a thin, fast neck set in a solid mahogany body. There are also acoustic features like a glued rosewood bridge with a bone saddle over a piezo pick-up; and of course, the soundhole. The playability is similarly melded, with the hand-feel being very much electric but feeling very acoustic to the fingers. Further distinguishing this oddity is its 24.75” scale length alongside its Fender style 1 ⅝” nut width. The Fishman TASS electronics feature a volume and tone knob and sound really great with a nice acoustic amplifier. There is quite a bit of checking on the top along with chips and dings from years of play. A refret was also performed on it at some point, and the frets are all in and secure and play great, but it was not the prettiest job ever. All told this guitar is a solid player and we make a great instrument for someone looking for a true crossing of acoustic and electric. Ships in a gigbag
