Many department stores tried to cash in on the guitar boom of the 1960s with their own proprietary brands; Sears, Roebuck, & Co. had Silvertone and Montgomery Ward had Airline. This is an Airline Town and Country in natural finish and a rosewood fretboard. Like many of the quirky guitars of its time, this guitar certainly does not lack controls. It has a three-way pick-up selector, a master volume, and a volume and tone knob for each pick-up. The Bigsby tremolo system is in good working order and the control panels only have a few chips and breaks. The back of the body is chambered to reduce weight, and the plastic cover does have a hole in the center. The body does have some checking, but that and all its other issues are aesthetic and do not affect the guitar's playability or sound. Ships in a gig bag.
