Here we have a little known Texas native, the Alamo Titan, built right next door to us in San Antonio, Texas. Alamo began as an electronics company in the 1940s but went on to produce entry level guitars and amps in the 1960s. Alamo guitars are little known in the vintage guitar world because these instruments were marketed to beginner players and because of their limited run of only 1960-70. Despite this, they are still handsome guitars and fine pieces of Texas music history. This particular piece features one single-coil pick-up in the middle position and a rosewood fret-board. It is in very good condition with only a few paint chips that appear to have been clear coated. The original Kluson Deluxe tuners are beginning to oxidize, but they still function normally. The neck has no truss-rod, so its nice and beefy and really feels substantial in the hand. The tone is fairly neutral, but it is capable of some nice, clean blues sounds. If you are interested in a vintage piece of Texas guitar history that won't break the bank, then this is the guitar for you!
