This is a 2003 D-1 dreadnought acoustic guitar from Collings Guitars right next door to us in Austin, Texas. Bill Collings left pre-med for lutherie in the mid-70s and spent his life refining his craft and building fine stringed instruments. With players such as Pete Townshend and Brian May, word got out fast about Collings fine instruments and they didn’t stay in Austin for long. With guitars like this one, it's no surprise that the name Collings spread so quickly. This instrument has a mahogany back and sides, an ebony fretboard and bridge, and a silky spruce top, all of which make for a gorgeous wood tone. The sound of this instrument is very warm and deep, and with a bit more age this beauty will really sing. With the exception of some light pick scratches in the front and some light buckle rash in the back, this guitar is in excellent condition. Ships in its original hard-shell case.
