This is a sort of confusing piece from 1960s Japan. The branding on the headstock says “Coronado”, but this does not refer to any kind of Fender copy, but those do exist from Kawai era Teisco. This is yet another ambiguously shaped Japanese vintage, likely from the Kawai factory from its string retention bar and plywood laminate body. One interesting point on this one is the solid wood neck, a nice find for a guitar of this quality. This guitar is of a smaller scale, making it a perfect guitar for young beginners or smaller players in general. This guitar would likely have been marketed to beginners upon its importation, so it would be a wonderful continuation of its life to find itself in the hands of a new beginner.
