Epiphone FT 30 mfg. 1941-49, 1958-1970.
After Gibson purchased Epiphone in 1957 The FT 30 was renamed the Caballero in 1958. It is said that Gibson used all of the Epiphone New York-made parts acquired from Epiphone along with their own to build Epiphones from 1958 to 1961. In 1961, after all of the New York parts were gone, Gibson parts from Kalamazoo were used. This is why the instruments from 1958 to 1969 are commonly referred to as "Gibson/Epiphones".
