Here we have a 1960 Fender Jazzmaster owned by country music artist Marty Stuart. Marty Stuart gained fame as a member of Johnny Cash's backing band and went on to some success as a solo artist. This guitar was with him during part of his career, providing vintage Fender sound through two "soap bar" single-coil pick-ups. The original Jazzmaster was intended to revolutionize the Jazz world of the day, but as most know it did not make quite the splash Fender was looking for. It did, however, find a niche among the surf-rock scene of the early '60s and among other pop artists like Elvis Costello, Thurston Moore, and of course, Marty Stuart. This guitar was well-used and shows the marks of long service, but it has a straight neck and is in very good condition. Included with the instrument is its original hard-shell case.
