As the Fender Musicmaster guitar was to the Mustang, so the Musicmaster bass was released as an affordable, stripped down version of the Mustang bass. The instruments were made from surplus parts including Mustang bodies and six-pole guitar pick-ups, rather than bass pick-ups. They were also produced with shorter scale lengths, coming in at a modest 30”, making them great basses for smaller players. This particular piece has a bit of a modern twist, being all original save for an EMG passive pick-up replacing the original. By no means detrimental, the bass has a very nice nice sound with a no-nonsense volume and tone configuration. It also appears that this guitar was refinished at some point. The neck is very straight and the action is set just right; a great player for sure! With some scuffs along the side and a couple cracks in the pick-guard around the input jack, this bass in good condition and ready to rock! Ships in hard-shell case with some damaged buckles and a broken handle.
