Here we have a rather mysterious Tele, a 1985 made in Japan in metallic red finish. These instruments can be notoriously hard to date, with no branding on the headstock and in some cases, like this one, the identifying backplate is either replaced or sanded down to conceal the guitars make. This guitar was dated and nationally identified by hand written dates and a stamp in the neck pocket. This is indeed a 1985 Tele, and unlike buyers of its time, we know today that these instruments were made with care and are high quality. This instrument certainly does not suffer from its Japanese making, and plays well and sounds nice and twangy like a Tele should. Furthermore, the neck is quite straight and the body is in excellent condition, as is the rest of the instrument. It does appear, however, that the bridge may not be original, but this does not detract from playability and the bridge functions perfectly. Ships in a plush, wool-lined original hard-shell case.
