Here we have a Tele partscaster with a 1970s Fender neck, a repro ash body, and DiMarzio electronics. The neck stamp has the format of a ‘70s Fender but the last two digits are difficult to make out, so the exact year of the neck is hard to determine. The instrument does have a neck plate that dates to 1973-74, and it is likely that this plate was from the same instrument as the neck. The body is ash with a “blonde” finish, and we know it is not original due to the “bass notch” at the neck pocket, a feature excluded from ‘70s Telecasters. The pots, knobs, and selector tip are also replacements, with pots being DiMarzios. The pick-up selector is a “Made in USA” labeled CRL with one patent number present, meaning it could have been a part of the original guitar as well. The pick-up’s originality and age are difficult to determine, but they sound great either way. The neck is straight and the frets have plenty of life in them. The guitar may be a partscaster, but it is still a beautiful instrument with a great sound and vintage vibe! Ships in a ‘70s plastic Fender case.
