Here we have a 60th anniversary Fender Telecaster, limited edition number 184 of 1000, in natural finish. This instrument is a loving tribute to Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, founded in 1946; and what better way to celebrate then issuing this highly limited version of Fender’s first born, the Telecaster. This instrument had a clear nitrocellulose finish, but it had bubbled and flaked off and was replaced with a Tru-Oil finish. The guitar bears the 60th Anniversary stamp on both the front under the bridge and on the neck plate. Fender went to great lengths to make this guitar a throwback to the 50s, even going so far as to use flat head screws, an old style bridge, and Kluson style tuners. The sound of this instrument is every bit of Tele twang we all know and love, and the instrument plays wonderfully to boot. This guitar does show some wear from previous use though, mostly on the fretboard where the finish has worn on the fifth fret. There is also some scratching on the headstock decal, but these issues are all aesthetic and do not affect the playability of this fine guitar. This instrument is in very good condition and ships in its original silver 60th Anniversary case, which does show some significant cat claw marks.
