During the late sixties, Fender had been attempting to shed its identity as the "single-coil guitar company" in order to better compete with Gibson. In comes Gibson pick-up designer Seth Lover to do just that, designing the Fender "Wide Range" humbucker. On this '74 Deluxe Telecaster you'll find two Wide Range pick-ups in the bridge and neck positions, and a control format not dissimilar to a Gibson guitar. The Wide Range pick-ups sound similar to Gibson pick-ups as well, but with a bit more clarity. The Fender Telecaster Deluxe is a great merging of Gibson humbucking sound and classic Fender play-ability. This guitar is in excellent condition, with a straight neck, only minor scratches and dings, and some pick-up wear. Ships in a hard-shell case.
