During the late 1960s, Gibson introduced the innovative new Deluxe Les Paul to replace the standard. Sporting mini-humbuckers instead of T-tops, the Deluxe would replace the standard until 1975. The Deluxe included a four-ply maple and mahogany body and a three-piece maple neck. This piece is a beautiful example of a Deluxe with a wine-red finish and gold aftermarket hardware. That hardware includes a new bridge with fine-tuning thumbscrews and a new set of locking tuners. The finish is in reasonable condition for its age, with some buckle rash on the back and a few dings and scratches on the front. This guitar ships in a hard-shell case.
