This is another beautiful Les Paul in a smart black finish made in 1978. This instrument gained its "standard" title in a time when most Les Pauls featured mini-humbuckers and "standard" meant it had regular humbuckers. However, this particular piece had those humbuckers replaced with a Bill Lawerence DSL 81 in the bridge and a DiMarzio humbucker in the neck. The neck pick-up also has a parallel/series switch near the knobs. '78 also marked Gibson's return from a 4-ply body design to a two piece body. All told, this guitar is in very good condition, and all the modifications make it a very unique piece for any Gibson fan.
