Gretsch TW100 Travelling Wilburys "Pictureburst"
The Traveling Wilburys was a star-studded supergroup formed in 1988 featuring rock icons George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. The band was the brainchild of George Harrison and became a commercial success after the release of their first album, revitalizing the careers of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison. Following said success a promotional run of guitars, designed by Gretsch, was released to commemorate this titan super group. The “Pictureburst” finish looks great, but there is a ding on the bass side lower top. There are also a few dings around the sides and back, but the guitar still looks great. The back is adorned with the printed stage name signatures of the Wilburys’ members inside a “designed by Gretsch” decal. The playability and sound of this instrument are fairly mediocre, but this is definitely more of a collector’s piece than anything else. Despite this, it has still been set-up and cleaned by our tech and is certainly a playable piece. If you are a fan of the Traveling Wilburys, this guitar is a must! Don’t pass it up!
