This is a mid-80s Squier Jazz Bass, made in Japan. After Fender introduced Squier branded guitars in an attempt to compete with cheap knock-off makers, something interesting happened: the MIJ Squiers began out performing the American made guitars. It is well known that during the late ‘80s the Squiers made in Japan were equal, if not higher quality than American Fenders. As such, today these instruments are popular and affordable choices for players. This Jazz Bass is no exception, with a good weight to it and excellent playability and sound. This bass has seen a life of play and shows the bumps and dings of heavy use, especially on the back and sides. It is also missing its pick-up cover, but this does not detract from its smart black on black looks. If you are looking for an aged Fender sound at an affordable price, then look no further! Sorry, no case on this one.
