Rickenbacker 450/12 1980
During the 1960s, Rickenbacker was a rock institution, with many famous players favoring the brand from members of The Beatles to Pete Townshend of The Who. Rickenbacker was certainly not limited to the ‘60s, with players such as Tom Petty, Lemmy, and Geddy Lee employing Ricks, among many other big name artists. Always known for innovation, Rickenbacker put out some wild designs, and this piece we have here is no exception. This 450/12 was originally produced in 1965 (this piece is a 1980) to meet the desire for 12-string electrics. Certainly not the only guitar of that variety, what makes this Rick different is its bottom and side tuner arrangement that allows for a very compact design that resembles a regular six-string. This guitar also features a neck-thru body design and two Rickenbacker Hi-Gain pick-ups. This particular guitar is in very good condition with some slight wear, a nick on the headstock, and some oxidation on the hardware. But despite its age. The tuners feel remarkably smooth and the neck is straight and feels fast in the hands. The Canary Yellow finish gives this guitar a great vintage look to match the great sound. Ships in its original hard-shell case.
