Texas native Stevie Ray Vaughan is well remembered as one of the finest guitarists in the rock and blues genres. Slinging the same axe as one of his biggest influences, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray was known for roughing up many a Strat in his time. This 2007 Signature Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster was designed after SRV’s most famous guitar, which he called “Number One”. The model was given three Texas Special single coils, an SRV branded pickguard, and Stevie Ray Vaughan’s signature on the headstock. The original guitar was assembled from early ‘60s parts, and as such, Fender included vintage style clay inlays, a vintage style left-handed bridge, and Kluson style tuners. This instrument plays very nice and the fat neck feels great, with a wonderful sound that is big yet smooth. The finish on this instrument has seen better days, with lots of dings on the lower bout and sides and some wear and pitting on the gold hardware. This instrument unfortunately has no case but will ship with an SRV style musical notes strap.
