This is a Teisco Del Ray ET-310 from the Kawai era. Kawai purchased the Teisco name in 1967 and produced many guitars with the name, and this is one such instrument. As is typical for Kawai Teiscos, there is a string retention bar and the neck is laminate. This instrument has three single-coil pick-ups and three of the lovely switches, so fondly associated with Japanese vintage, for each one. The neck feels good in the hands and the pick-ups make some nice tones, particularly in the bridge or with all pick-ups in circuit, which makes for a really big sound. The body has some checking but still looks great with the stripped metal pick-guard. It is unfortunately missing its tremolo spring, but there is a rubber stopper in its place so the instrument still functions properly. Ships in a soft-shell case with an unfortunately broken handle.
