In July of 1983, Gibson made the pivotal decision to close its Kalamazoo plant, where it had been since 1902. After such a big change, may of Gibsons Kalamazoo old-timers opted not to move to Nashville, but rather, stay at the old plant and open their own company. Thus, in 1985, Heritage Guitar, Inc. was born. This piece is the fruit of the company's labor, and naturally, it has a very familiar look. This guitar was built by former Gibson personnel, and as such, it feels and plays a lot like a Les Paul, but is perhaps a little lighter. Well loved by its previous owner, this axe bears the marks of frequent use. There is some significant buckle rash on the back and some scuffing on the back of the neck. This does nothing to affect playability and is merely cosmetic. This guitar ships in its original Heritage branded TKL case.
